There was some unwanted chaos on Friday's This Morning as a fire alarm caused chaos in the studio, just as Mel B was being interviewed in the studio.
As they do at the end of every week, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were at the helm of the daytime show, with Spice Girl star Mel joining them as a special guest. But, just as the interview about her new series Trailblazers: A Rocky Mountain Road Trip was getting in to its stride, the alarm started sounding, prompting the singer better known to millions across the world as Scary Spice to jump to her feet, urging Alison and Dermot to do the same and remarking: "We're done!"
The hosts showed no sense of urgency at all and, after pausing for a brief moment, Alison responded: "I love when it goes wrong on live TV! But we did a check and the building is not on fire.”

Having none of it, Mel B told her: "We're done talking, it (her news show) is out on Monday."
The former X Factor judge then took it upon herself to be This Morning host, as she sandwiched herself between Alison and Dermot and told viewers that they'd be 'back after the break.'
Unfortunately for than the show's actual presenters, the fire alarm then went off again, as they were overseeing a fashion segment, with the chaos coming after the show had been pulled from schedules for a few days due to ITV's World Cup overage.
Reacting to the fire alarm chaos during the chat with Mel B, one viewer tweeted This Morning to react: "the fire alarm goes off during your live programme and 2 of your presenters laugh raucously as they hold onto Mel B who is attempting to leave! Unbelievable!"
A second tweeted: "did that just happen, for real, the fire alarm."
