This Morning fans cringe over awkward moment after Vanessa Feltz's heartbreaking admission

This Morning viewers were left cringing over an awkward moment that aired on Wednesday, just after show regular Vanessa Feltz featured in an emotional interview.

The star revealed all on her heartbreaking split from partner Ben Ofoedu, detailing her "shock" and upset over the break-up.

Vanessa spoke to hosts and pals Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about her heartache, before asking viewers for advice.

She also suggested it wasn't a complete surprise that her romance ended, after 16 years together.

Viewers shared their support for Vanessa as the interview aired, as she said she'd "been through it before" and refused to let the split "grind her down".

But some fans were then left cringing, as after the interview the show revealed what was coming up next.

Included in this was a segment on Valentine's Day, and just as Vanessa's interview ended they played the song Love Is In The Air.

Some fans found this offensive and awkward given they had just had a chat about someone's break-up, and their heartbreak.

Hearing a song about love and romance play moments after Vanessa talked of her split left some viewers taking to Twitter to call it out.

One viewer said: "Ughhh playing the Valentines Day bit right after Vanessa, including “Love is in the Air” music…"

Another fan tweeted: "Straight from Vanessa to valentine!" as a third viewer said: "From broken-hearted Vannesa to what to get your valentine."

Vanessa broke the news last week, and shared a video online saying that she was "disappointed" and "incredibly sad".

"Well I haven't been on Instagram for three weeks and that's because my relationship with Ben is over after sixteen years and I honestly didn't know what to say to you on Instagram," she revealed to fans.

"But now it's clear that it's over and I really do feel that once the trust in a relationship is gone then you can't really get it back and that's what I would tell anyone else to do."

Vanessa tried to hold back tears as she bravely continued: "And so I just wanted to say that obviously I feel incredibly sad and I am pretty disappointed and shocked and all those horrible things but also full of resolve. I am not going to let this defeat me.

"I am so glad to be living longer than my mum did, she died at 57 and for the Lord's prayers, I am going to be 61 next month.

"I am very very grateful to be alive and I want to carry on feeling that way and I want to celebrate and find fun and laughter anywhere I can.

"I know it is not going to be easy but I am absolutely determined to do it."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
