This Morning chaos as Mr Blobby destroys ITV set leaving Phillip and Holly gobsmacked

This Morning descended into chaos today as Mr Blobby destroyed the ITV show's set.

Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were left stunned as Mr Blobby appeared on the ITV mid-morning show as they discussed how a costume from the original series was fetching a huge amount on eBay. However, the appearance soon turned into chaos as Mr Blobby grabbed something off the table and smashed it onto the floor.

Guest Alice Beer was left stunned by it all too as she revealed she had plans to sell that item as part of her earning cash online segment, before Mr Blobby went to grab Holly's favourite glass.

The pair could just watch on as Mr Blobby wrecked the set, smashing the ornament into smithereens on the floor. Holly admitted it was her first ever time meeting the character but it turned into chaos.

Mr Blobby later appeared to help with the Spin to Win challenge, which also had Phil and Holly in hysterics when she mistakenly said hello before the caller had confirmed they knew the special catchphrase.

The costume is described as "Mr Blobby - Original BBC Costume from the 1990’s", while the condition of the outfit is listed as "used".

The sales pitch reads: “This was made by the BBC's costume supplier for an overseas version of Noel's House Party. Unfortunately before it could be delivered the overseas show was cancelled and neither the broadcaster or the BBC's production team wanted it - so it sat in my office until a move meant it came home with me some years ago.

"This costume is made of foam rubber covered with a rubber type material with a shoulder support. Consequently as it is now over 25 years old, there is the inevitable ageing to the foam and the rubberised coating."

The description added: "This means it is less suitable to be worn as the unit is not very supple as it was in 1996. In addition the two arms require re-attaching to the body, one of the plastic eye is cracked and the bow tie will need securing. Overall it's not too bad for its age - but there is visible creasing and dust to the covering and some areas require a drop of glue to make good."
