This Morning announces major presenting shake-up as fan favourites due to return

This Morning’s summer presenting line-up has been unveiled, with an “all-star line-up” of familiar faces returning to ITV’s daytime programme.

Regularly hosted by Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley for the majority of the week, with Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond then taking over on Fridays, the long-running show introduces a new revolving cast of presenters during the summer.

On Thursday evening, the presenters taking over hosting duties this summer were revealed on the official This Morning Instagram page.

The first slide showed comedian and Take Me Out host Paddy McGuinness paired with former Big Brother star Josie Gibson, followed by This Morning favourites Andi Peters and Rochelle Humes.

The next pairings were Irish presenters Angela Scanlon and Craig Doyle, and then Gibson once more alongside fan favourite presenter Rylan Clark.

The final combos showed Capital Breakfast presenter Sian Welby and comedian turned Masked Singer host Joel Dommett, and Christine Lampard with Doyle once again.

Fans were thrilled to see their favourite presenters returning to the This Morning sofa, with Gibson and Clark proving particularly popular choices.

“Rylan and Josie … perfection!! Can’t wait,” one comment read, while another viewer commented: “Yes [clapping emojis] @rylan is back. Miss seeing you on TV.”

“JOOOOOSSSIEEEE,” another wrote in excitement, to be echoed by a comment reading: “Love Josie!!!”

Scanlon, who recently stepped in to replace Hammond on the show, shared her own excitement, commenting: “Can’t wait!”

It’s been three years since This Morning was thrown into disarray with the respective departures of long-time presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby over the course of the year.

Deeley and Shephard were announced as their replacements in February 2024, although the pair have not been fully accepted by viewers or the celebrity guests.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Shephard had adopted a harder line of questioning for the guests appearing on the show, and that the strategy had proven controversial as it made interviewees nervous on the normally fairly light-hearted show.

“It’s This Morning, not Newsnight,” an insider revealed at the time. “Over the last six months, Ben has started to randomly take questioning down a far harder line.

“Very often, editors have agreed with key guests to avoid personal topics and keep chat work-related… But Ben has started to throw in a controversial, newsy question or two, and it’s left PRs nervous about placing their clients on the show.”
