ITV morning shows This Morning and Loose Women have made some changes to their Christmas schedules for 2022 for the first time. Viewers will be able to enjoy extra episodes of the shows during the festive period.
For the first time ever This Morning and Loose Women will air from Wednesday, December 28 to Friday, December 30. This Morning is presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield and Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond while Loose Women is fronted by a changing panel including Coleen Nolan, Kaye Adams, Linda Robson, Dame Kelly Holmes, Judi Love, Jane Moore, Christine Lampard and Kelle Bryan.
Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning will also air on Christmas Day for the third year in a row. Emma Gormley, Managing Director of ITV Daytime said: “It wouldn’t be Christmas at ITV Daytime without the return of our Christmas Day special shows from Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning - all returning this Christmas morning for a third consecutive year.“
She added: "Also for the first time, This Morning and Loose Women will be on air throughout the Christmas period, alongside GMB and Lorraine, keeping viewers company this festive period.” Recently ITV morning programmes, including This Morning and Loose Women, have been cancelled due to the football World Cup in Qatar.
This Morning presenters Holly and Phil came under fire earlier in 2022 when they were accused of skipping the queue to see the Queen lying in state . Phil has since come out and said "Why would I apologise?" for the scandal.
In a clip aired on Dan Wootton's Tonight programme, Phillip was asked: "Do you feel vindicated?’" to which the 60-year-old replied: "I think that it was a shame that what happened, happened." He was also asked by GB News if he would now own the situation and issue an apology.
"Why would I apologise?" he asked before adding: "You’ve already seen that 700 other journalists did exactly the same thing."
