This Morning went ahead with their lying in state segment today - despite backlash from viewers.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield attended the Queen's lying in state as members of the press, meaning they did not have to join the queue - which at one point reached a huge 24 hour wait time. However, them being allowed to enter Westminster Hall for the lying in state this way sparked huge backlash from ITV viewers who claimed it was unfair they were allowed to do so.
It was expected that the segment would be aired during Tuesday's episode of This Morning, and as the pair presented the show live from London, they pushed on with the segment and addressed the controversy surrounding their visit to Westminster Hall.
