A new Matalan is officially opening in Parc Trostre in Llanelli - the first store to be introduced to the retail park since six household names left the during the pandemic. The clothing and home giants will be replacing the former unit that once housed Debenhams.
The store is officially opening its doors on Saturday, April 30 at 9am and will offer new job opportunities in the area. The new Matalan will include womenswear fashion, a kidswear department, menswear and on-trend homeware.

Matalan currently has 230 stores across the UK, and there are also other local stores in Swansea and Carmarthen. Ayse Randall, store manager said: "Matalan has been long awaited in Llanelli and we are so excited to be part of Trostre Retail Park. There’s now even ‘More To Love at Matalan’ and the store will offer customers amazing fashion and home inspiration for all the family at incredible value. We can’t wait to welcome our customers to a brand new store."
Parc Trostre has seen major retailers such as Outfit, H&M, Debenhams and Next depart during the pandemic, leaving empty units behind.
A new independent store is also set to open in the retail park, called '925 Treats', which will sell a wide range of jewellery, handbags and accessories and offers items from brands such as Nomination, Coeur De Lion, Hot Diamonds and Qudo. It already has two stores, one in Carmarthen and another in Ammanford, and is set to open in Llanelli very soon.
