Details of how you can get an Au Vodka bottle tattoo this weekend and get paid up to £250 for the privilege have been confirmed. We reported earlier this week how the Swansea alcohol brand had invited people to visit and have a tattoo of its blue raspberry bottle.
It came after the brand hit the headlines for the fake tattoo it applied to social media star Jake Paul's arm just days before his big fight with Tommy Fury, which he lost by split decision. It was said that he had been paid $250,000 for the privilege, and many responded by saying they would have done it for free - prompting Charlie Sloth, who is behind the brand, together with Jackson Quinn and Charlie Morgan - to challenge people to "put their money where their mouth is".
An event will now be held at the headquarters of Au Vodka on Saturday, March 11. It is being referred to as 'The TattAU Parlour' and will start from 12 noon. Each person getting the tattoo will receive up to £250, and the company has said it will match the amount and donate another £250 to cancer charity Maggie's for each tattoo. Au Vodka can be found at Cwmdu Industrial Estate, Swansea, SA5 8JF. Those interested are being encouraged to turn up early, as huge queues are expected. Sloth spoke of the huge level of interest since the invite was first promoted, and said he would be at the event himself to have his own tattoo done. He said in a social media video: "We've had people from South Africa to Dublin hit us up trying to get the Au bottle tattoo. It looks like thousands of people are going to be turning up this Saturday, March 11 at the Swansea Au Vodka HQ.
"If you're planning to arrive please get here as early as you can. Somebody messaged me earlier and said, Charles, I've bought a tent, I'm gonna be camping outside. Woah, Bravo, I'll see you there on Saturday because I'm getting my Au tattoo as well. I can't wait."
Fans had expected to see the tattoo on show as Jake Paul fought the brother of Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia, but were left confused when the arm where the tattoo was meant to be was bare. A clip was posted online subsequently showing Jake Paul wiping the tattoo off his arm, with the brand revealing it was not real, and Sloth referring to themselves as 'marketing geniuses'.
