In Paul’s viral tweet that has since reached over 244k likes, Paul said: “This is the single most pathetic moment of my entire life,” and admitted that he bought “maybe five little jars all year.”
He has even conjured up a theory as to how he became the number one paprika shopper in the region: “I do make a frankly *excellent* chickpea and red pepper stew that needs a lot of it, but I’d like to think this is more to do with the fact no one else seems to buy it than me having some kind of bizarre addiction.”
“I mean, this makes it look like I’ve got some kind of an addiction, honestly I just cook with it a lot.”
Many congratulated Pail on his achievement, telling him they were “very proud.”
Paul’s post spurred people to share their shopping ‘achievements’ with one commenter revealing he was the number one buyer of toilet gel in England.
Another Twitter boasted that they were the number one buyer of ice-cream cornets in England, which Paul called “an exceptional dedication to the world of ice creams.”
Maria exclaimed that she was the proud first place holder for having bought the most chilli purée in Cheshire - "for the THIRD year running!!"
One woman, 32, shared that she was the number two buyer for Thomas The Tank Engine hoops, something she said she’s not quite sure how she feels about!
