A Florida woman says Amazon has repeatedly sent her items that look used, even though they were sold as new. Her comments section quickly filled with other customers describing the same issue.
Amazon Customer Says She Received Used Items
TikTok creator @conniecairlines posts a warning to her followers after she says she receives her fifth used item from Amazon, all sent to her as if they were brand new. Her video racks up more than 95,100 views and quickly draws in other customers who say they’ve seen the same thing.
“I just made a video last night about Amazon sending us used and returned items as new,” she says at the start. “It’s a quarter to 10 the next day, and it’s happened again.”
She explains that the previous incident involved a tank top that arrived smelling strongly of perfume. “It wasn’t just somebody tried one on,” she says. “Somebody wore it, and I got it back.”
This time, the issue involves shoes she ordered as new. In the video, she picks up the shoe. “Oh yeah, these shoes have been worn,” she says. “You can see dirt around there.”
Amazan Customer Support Is of No Help, She Alleges
She calls Amazon to ask if sending returned items as new has become a policy change. According to her, the representative denies that anything like that is standard practice but agrees to file a complaint with the shipping department.
“They said they’ve never heard of it,” she says, adding that the issue now feels systemic.
“This is now the fifth item that I have gotten, but only the second that has been dirty and obviously worn,” she says. “We pay a lot of money to shop on Amazon, and now they’re sending us used products.”
She also points to a specific detail that keeps showing up on these packages: a label known as an LPN tag. “Be careful,” she warns. “If you see an LPN tag on it, return it.”
LPN stands for “License Plate Number,” an internal barcode used in some warehouse and returns tracking systems. While many online shoppers claim LPN tags often mark returned or warehouse-processed items, Amazon has not issued any official public clarification confirming how the label is used in practice.
Other Customers Claim The Same
Across Reddit, seller forums, and tech blogs, similar complaints stack up. One Reddit user writes, “Long time customer. This year I have had horrible luck with them, receiving used items that were purchased as ‘new’ or getting the wrong versions of what I ordered.”
On Amazon’s own Seller Central forum, a separate post alleged fulfillment issues from the opposite side of the pipeline. “Amazon keeps sending out used/return items in spite of our instructions to not repack and ship,” one seller writes.
How-To Geek even published an article detailing personal cases where products arrive with visible wear, missing packaging, or performance issues that suggest prior use. The author describes items that look or feel used despite being sold as new.
As for the LPN label itself, many online shoppers believe its presence points to previous return processing. That belief circulates widely, but no official response from Amazon directly confirms that interpretation.

Many viewers say the video mirrors their own experiences and share what they’ve received in place of “new” products.
“I purchased a ‘new’ iPad Pro from Amazon. The serial number on the box and iPad were different. It was locked by the previous owner from 2018. Amazon will not allow me to return or refund until I unlock it. Amazon said Apple should have to unlock it for me. Apple said Amazons responsibility,” one commenter wrote.
“I haven’t shopped at Amazon for almost two years…it’s cheaper to go find the things locally, might be a little inconvenient but it’s better than letting that evil place have my money,” another said.

“Amazon is failing – I purchased 1100 for a pair of 20tb SAS drives – i have done up to 75k a month through amazon. It took another purchase at 1100 to realize they don’t know what they’re doing. I canceled both orders (first cancelled at ship time) /nd i cancelled because i had a bad feeling – found it on ebay within 100 miles and worked out perfect,” one person added.
“Yuuuppppp! But the jeans I ordered had blood on them!!!” another claimed.
