On the 27th August last year, the English Blackball Pool Federation (EBPF) announced that they were banning trans women from playing in their Ladies’ events, saying they wanted players to “enjoy a safer environment” and ensure “equality and fairness for all”.

For transgender pool champion Harriet Haynes the news came as a complete shock.
