Mikal Bridges absolutely looks like a capital P player for the Brooklyn Nets. Ever since coming over in the Kevin Durant trade, he’s been balling on both ends of the court.
No performance was more impressive than his career-high 45-point explosion against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat, though. They were tough buckets, too. It included a stretch in the fourth quarter where the dude scored 15 straight points for his team. It was just extremely incredible stuff that only star players do.
It didn’t matter who lined up in front of him on this one. He was cooking whoever it was.

To put a cherry on top of such an impressive performance, Bridges gave his mom his game jersey to make things even more special.
This game from Bridges was just the moment Nets fans needed this season. It’s been a year filled with chaos and dudes who — to be completely honest — seemed like they didn’t want to be there.
On the other hand, though, it also puts the team in strange territory that no other team in NBA history has been in.
Bridges’ incredible game gives the Nets four players that have scored 45 points or more this season. That’s the first time this has ever happened, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
The others are Cam Thomas, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Naturally, that’s the most by a single team in one season.

That’s impressive. But I’m not actually sure it’s something that’s supposed to happen.
You’re not supposed to trade away two 45-point scorers in a week’s span. But, if you do, you’d better be hopeful that you can get another one back in return like the Nets did here.
Honestly, Brooklyn probably enjoyed this one a little more than the others. Good on the Nets.
