This IKEA storage essential is ideal for family camping trips, and it's only $10

IKEA TIGERFINK organizer inside a tent .

Anyone whose taken a camping trip with the family, or even on your own, know it can get messy inside your tent fast. After all, to set up a tent, you're creating somewhere to live, but they're not prioritizing any kind of storage.

I've taken trips and just lived out of my bag in the corner for days, but inevitably, stuff spills out onto the floor and I spend a lot of time digging around looking for what I need.

And while you might invest in hanging organisers, which are super popular with campers, they often cost over $30. But did you know there's an IKEA organiser that could do the trick for a third of the price? While not designed specifically for camping, it does exactly the same job for just $10.

How it works

While the IKEA TIGERFINK appears to be geared towards children's organization to store their belongings at home, it could actual be an ideal solution for family camping trips.

At just 10 oz. when empty and completely foldable, it's easy to pack up along with the rest of your belongings. But, when folded out, you could hang it from your tent poles as a great storage option. You'll want to be sure it'll clear the length of your tent though at 11 1/2 inches. And that there's somewhere to attach the hanging loop, whether onto a pole or with hooks.

It's also worth checking how much you can hang inside the organizer before it exceeds a weight limit of what your tent can handle. But for $10. it's definitely worth trying out and maybe giving it a test run at home before you head off on your trip.

It's an affordable option and since it's made for kids, IKEA also boasts that the mesh fabric is easy to wipe down and maintain, which is perfect for camping trips. The white mesh and orange piping may not quite match your camping aesthetic, but it's pretty inoffensive, helpfully see-through, and could save you money.
