This Cult French Pharmacy Serum Sells One Bottle Every 30 Seconds

If you’re a French pharmacy beauty enthusiast, you’ll be well acquainted with the brand Caudalie. And if you’re familiar with Caudalie, you’re probably a particular fan of their Vinoperfect serum.

First launching 15 years ago, the Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum is a worldwide best-seller, with one bottle sold every 30 seconds. The key to its success is thought to be Caudalie’s patented ingredient, Viniferine.

Derived from the sap of grape vines, Viniferine was historically used by young French women who lived around vineyards to brighten their complexions. Caudalie then decided to put this ancient skincare hack to the test and discovered, much to their surprise, it actually worked.

Brightening ingredients are common in skincare routines, with ingredients like Vitamin C and Niacinamide often touted as the heroes in this category. However, according to their research, Caudalie found Viniferine to be 62 times more effective than Vitamin C, and 43% more effective than Niacinamide.

The Vinoperfect serum reportedly reduces 63% of dark spots after one bottle; a figure which soars to 81% on darker skin tones. And if you’re looking for quick results, their research says 25% of dark spots are visible reduced on all skin tones after just one week of use.

The reason skincare aims to lighten spots is to help create a brighter and more even skin tone, offering anti-ageing effects.

Fans of Caudalie usually head to the brand because of its suitability for sensitive skin, as well as its commitment to the planet. The Vinoperfect serum is entirely vegan, and doesn’t contain any parabens, phenoxyethanol, mineral oils, PEG or silicones.
