When I was 10 years old, anything with an engine was basically forbidden fruit. I had bicycles, video games, and the occasional opportunity to stare longingly at motorcycles I wasn't remotely old enough to ride. Kids entering TVS's new Apache Junior Program have things slightly better. And by "slightly," I mean they'll get to ride a purpose-built, 23-horsepower race bike that weighs about 198 pounds.
The bike responsible is the TVS Apache RR 200 MiniGP, and despite the name, this isn't some tiny electric toy with racing stickers slapped onto it. It uses a retuned version of the 197.75cc single-cylinder engine from the Apache RTR 200 4V. Here, it gets a 30mm semi-flat-slide carburetor, free-flow air filter, and free-flow exhaust, helping push output from the street bike's 20.8 horsepower to 23 horsepower.
