'This club will love you forever' - James McFadden's advice to Frank Lampard's Everton signings

Former Everton favourite James McFadden has inadvertently offered his advice to Frank Lampard's new signings, as he explained the one characteristic they need to show to ensure "this club will love you forever".

McFadden opened up over his love for Everton and the "special place" that is Goodison Park in the first edition of My Everton, a weekly series from the club and Hummel documenting treasured memories from players, fans and staff.

The Scot spent five seasons at Goodison Park between 2003 and 2008, scoring 18 goals in 139 appearances during his first stint before a brief return for the 2011/2012 campaign. He was part of David Moyes’ brilliant Everton side that finished fourth in 2004/2005, and has opened up on treasured memories from his time amid a tough decision to leave Scotland.
