This Bears OC interview could impact Patriots’ 2024 draft pick

The New England Patriots’ chances of landing one of the top-two quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL draft are directly tied to what the Chicago Bears decide to do with the No. 1 overall pick.

If they move on from Justin Fields, they’ll use the pick to select their next quarterback of the future, or they could keep Fields and use the pick on Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. There’s also the option of trading down and accumulating more draft picks.

But on Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Bears are interviewing USC senior offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach Kliff Kingsbury for an offensive coordinator role. The interview is particularly interesting considering Kingsbury worked directly with Caleb Williams, who is expected to be the top quarterback taken in the draft.

If the Bears take Williams and the Washington Commanders take Drake Maye, the Patriots would be left with deciding between drafting LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, Harrison or one of the top-two offensive tackles, Joe Alt or Olu Fashanu.

All eyes are on the Bears for a decision that could end up shaping the entire draft board.
