This 2000-year-old coin collected as bus fare in the 1950s, turns out to be a rare artefact

A tiny bronze coin that was used as payment for the bus ride in Leeds a few decades ago has now proved to have a much deeper history than anyone could imagine. An object that was initially considered a rather exotic item in the cash desk of a clerk has actually turned out to be a means of payment that belonged to an ancient civilisation that lived more than two thousand years ago. This coin has managed to stay unnoticed by its owner until it was discovered after travelling from generation to generation within the same family, later examined by specialists who confirmed its origins and highlighted its remarkable journey across centuries of human history.
