Thirteen year-old cricket star from West Lothian mounts incredible comeback for Livingston Cricket Club

Livingston Cricket Club’s first team saw a pleasing first half of the season with four wins and four defeats.

The first team finished their latest innings at 229 for five in 45 overs. Fahad, Imtiaz and Kashi all stood out in the match.

Livi looked comfortable as they took five wickets for 97 runs.

Three fumbled catches proved very costly to the squad, however, when three different batsman scored 58, 85* and 43 to steal the game away from Livingston.

The first team will be travelling to Dunnikier to start the second half of the season.

Livingston’s second team kept up their good form with their second win in a row playing away against Peebles.

Sadhil Jindal showed impeccable skill when he bowled his full allotment of eight overs continuously and finished with four wickets while giving away only 20 runs – and was described by others on the team as ‘probably the best display of swing bowling seen at the club’.

It took Livingston less than 15 overs to get the runs and victory by eight wickets.

The third team had a tough task at Cavalry Park facing the Marchmont thirds who sat second in division seven.

Things started to look dire for the team as the match went on but Srikar Boggla continued his impeccable form and showcased his talent with stylish shots, knocking the ball around for singles and finding regular gaps for boundaries.

Srikar fell with three overs to go, finishing on 61 with 11 fours. Srikar’s performance was once again the highlight of Livingston’s batting.

Thanks in no small part to Srikar Boggla, the third team took the victory.

Linlithgow Cricket Club made the long journey to the Borders to take on Galashiels.

Galashiels made excellent use of the fast outfield and raced along, finally finishing on 230 for the loss of just five wickets.

Pick of the bowlers for Linlithgow was Jordan Hamilton with three wickets for 44 runs from ten overs.

The visitors were bowled all out for 85 in 29 overs – Linlithgow collecting just three bonus points from the fixture.

Next weekend Linlithgow travel to Raeburn Place in Edinburgh to take on Grange seconds.

Meanwhile, at Boghall, Linlithgow’s second team took on St Boswells in East League Division 4.

Linlithgow made 173 for 9 wickets from their allocation of 40 overs.

Top contributions came from bowler Ramesh Duvvuri with 43 runs and veteran Alan Whitton who made 28 runs.

Pick of the bowlers for Linlithgow was Gary Kellet with two wickets for 34 from seven overs.

Next weekend Linlithgow take on Drummond Trinity thirds at Boghall looking to bounce back from this narrow defeat.
