A Houston compounding pharmacy has recalled six lots of injectable glutathione, Myer's Cocktail, and Tri-Immune Boost vials because they were made with a glutathione ingredient that contained elevated levels of endotoxin. In a notice posted by the FDA on Sept. 13, Centric Compounding said the 30-milliliter multidose vials were distributed nationwide, both to prescribers and directly to patients through home delivery. The company has received nine reports of fever, chills, chest pain, nausea or vomiting, headache, and malaise.
This is the third Texas pharmacy recall tied to endotoxin in compounded glutathione and the first of the three to include blended wellness products. That distinction matters at home, because someone who ordered an immune-support vial may not think of it as a glutathione product.
