The Thunder have emerged as a third team in the overnight trade that sent James Harden from the 76ers to the Clippers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Thunder have never been afraid to enter trade talks involving draft capital and we can now add this Harden blockbuster to the list.
The Clippers will send the Thunder a 2027 first-round pick swap, while the Thunder will send the 76ers a protected 2026 first-round pick. The Clippers are sending 2024 and '29 second-round picks to the Sixers in the trade as well, according to Wojnarowski.
The 76ers sent Harden, P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev to the Clippers in an overnight trade that netted them Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nic Batum, K.J. Martin and multiple draft picks.
The 76ers will now use the newly acquired draft assets and movable players to pursue a high-level guard to build around MVP Joel Embiid and rising star Tyrese Maxey.
Philadelphia is 2-1 on the season after a Sunday victory over Portland.
