Newtown Strings, 2 Royal Avenue (Old Tescos), January 29

Newton Strings was formed in 2021 as a way for its members for reconnect with ensemble playing after lockdown.

With a shared taste in quartet music, Angie McCrisken, Catherine O’Neill, Ruth McCavery and Leanne Holden quickly discovered a love of creating fun and original spins on a vast array of familiar classics. From Britney to Bach, Bake Off to Bieber, Newton Strings want to expand the preconception of a string quartet, while staying true to their disciplines.

Ulster Orchestra: The Brilliance of Williams, Waterfront Hall, January 29

Sunflower Comedy Club, Sunflower Music Hall, January 30

The Sunflower comedy club continues showcasing the best of established and up and coming comedians from the NI comedy scene and usually some special guests dropping in.

10 comedians doing 10 minute sets for a 10er in. Keeping it simple at the Sunflower and a few sips of a Sunday.
