Police have launched an urgent appeal following the theft of £500k worth of tyres from a Wishaw wholesaler.
The thefts are believed to have taken from yards in the Newmains and Chapelhall areas of Wishaw on a number of different occasions throughout September 2022. The tyres stolen are from the brands Lassa, Tomket, Waterfall, Anchee and Threea.

Officers are asking anyone with information regarding the thefts, or anyone who believes they may have seen some of these tyres for sale under suspicious circumstances, to come forward.
Detective Constable Gerry Hattie, from Wishaw CID, said: “This was a significant and valuable series of thefts.
“It is likely that those responsible will be attempting to move the tyres on and sell them to unsuspecting motorists or garages via a number of means, so we are asking people to be aware.
“If you have any information which could assist our enquiries, please call police on 101, quoting incident 1357 of 28 September, 2022. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
