A Tuscan winery has been targeted in what it described as Italy’s largest wine theft on record, after criminals stole about 30,000 bottles valued at an estimated 5 million euros ($5.8 million).
The theft occurred on Saturday night at Marchesi Antinori’s facility near Cortona, in the province of Arezzo. A group of at least seven thieves escaped with bottles of some of Italy's most sought-after wines, including Solaia, Tignanello and Guado al Tasso.
