Thieves grab $100,000 from worker replenishing Bronx ATMs: police

Conniving Bronx crooks swiped $100,000 from an ATM company, say police — and they didn’t even need a PIN code.

The two thieves were tracking a courier who replenishes Bronx ATM machines, said cops.

They put their heist in motion when the courier parked his vehicle outside the White Plains Furniture Store on White Plains Road near Boston Road in Allerton about 2:15 p.m. on May 30, police said.

The 31-year-old worker locked up his vehicle before servicing a nearby ATM machine.

But one of the thieves busted a rear passenger-side window and then rifled through the vehicle, taking several business documents and the cash used to fill up the machines, cops said.

The crook fled in a black SUV driven by the accomplice.

Cops believe that the two thieves had been following the courier for some time before deciding to pounce.

No injuries were reported.

Cops on Wednesday released surveillance images of one of the thieves in the hope someone recognizes him.

Anyone with information regarding the man’s whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
