Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has revealed why he backed Daniel Ek in his takeover battle against the Kroenkes and explained why there hasn't been any developments since.
The relationship between KSE and the Arsenal fanbase hit rock bottom when a lack of communication, presence and understanding of the club's values was followed by the decision to sign up to the hugely controversial European Super League, a decision which Stan Kroenke's son, Josh, has since admitted was wrong.
While the owners looked to gain trust and make amends for their mistakes as thousands of enraged Arsenal supporters protested outside the Emirates Stadium, one billionaire sought the opportunity to throw his name in the ring as a potential buyer at a time when many were demanding change. It was somewhat of a smart move by Spotify founder Daniel Ek, but one which turned out to be very short-lived.

Ek joined forces with Arsenal legends including Henry and Dennis Bergkamp in an attempt to push a takeover through, but the Kroenkes made it absolutely clear that they had no interest nor plans to sell up after the Swede made an offer believed to be in the region of £1.8billion.
Nearly two years later and it's clear to see that KSE weren't lying when they said their project in north London was only just getting started, with overall views on the American businessmen a major contrast to what they had been for so long. A combination of the £330million spent over the previous four transfer windows, increased involvement from Josh and the success we are currently seeing on the pitch has certainly changed perspectives, providing some much-needed stability in the process.
That is something Henry doesn't want to disrupt, with the Frenchman now content with the club's situation and its owners following a rocky period.
"At the time (Ek) wanted to offer a solution to the fans, who were all saying 'sell, sell, sell' but sell to who," Henry told the House of Champions podcast. "We offered a solution, it wasn't meant to be. I'm an Arsenal fan, let's win. It doesn't matter. We were there to offer a solution, you want it, you don't want it, it doesn't matter.
"Now everything is OK, why would anyone want to disturb anything (by changing owners)? It's all I wanted. Whether it was me in or me out I wanted Arsenal to be successful. That's the main point."
