A thief who stole a nurse’s purse from a hospital is back behind bars after a shoplifting spree.
Shaun Clare, 33, of Victoria Road, Widnes, appeared at North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court in Warrington last Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to three counts of theft and one of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by entering Holland and Barrett, which he was banned from doing. He was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay compensation equal to the value of the stolen items.
A fourth count of theft over an incident was withdrawn. Court papers said Clare had a “flagrant disregard for people and their property” and a “horrendous record” of similar offences.
