Thibaut Courtois makes Mohamed Salah transfer admission amid Liverpool exit rumours

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois believes Mohamed Salah could adapt to La Liga, or any of the other big European leagues, should he depart Liverpool this summer or the next.

The Egyptian is out of contract in 2023, but despite ongoing negotiations, is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal to extend his stay at Anfield. This had led to widespread speculation over his future and links to clubs across the continent.

Two of those clubs include Real Madrid and Barcelona, both have been tipped to sign Salah ever since his breakout season at Liverpool in 2017/18. Now, they could finally land the winger should he not sign a new contract.

Courtois made the move from the Premier League to Real Madrid himself back in 2018, having spent the best part of seven years at Stamford Bridge. He's gone on to become Los Blancos' no.1 and has made over 170 appearances for the club.

"A possible transfer for Mohamed Salah to the league? There is no easy transfer from one league to another or one club to another," the former Chelsea shot-stopper said in an interview with El Captain.

"Although there are exceptions, of course, there were good players in the English Premier League, and they succeeded when they move to the Spanish League, and vice versa.

"On a personal level, my adaptation to the Spanish League was not complicated, due to the fact that I came from the English Premier League, and for this reason I think that Salah can succeed in adapting to any of the five major leagues."

Salah once again spoke out on his contract situation ahead of Liverpool's crunch Premier League clash with title rivals Manchester City. He admitted it was a 'sensitive' situation and that his focus remains on the team.

He told Sky Sports News: "I've said many times before that's what I want. But again I can't really go deep in the contract right now because it's a really sensitive situation. For the team to win I can't just go on the news and talk about my contract. I just focus on the team and that's it."
