With the 2021/22 season at an end, it’s now time to take a look at which Chelsea players have stood out across the campaign and to choose the best.
Thomas Tuchel added another two trophies to the Chelsea cabinet one being a first in the Club World Cup. We had some standout performances this season forcing their way into the conversation of Player Of The Season.
Take a look below at which five members of the Chelsea squad that I've selected as potential players of the season and see who we’ve gone with from the group, and have your say by voting in the survey below or here.
Mason Mount (53 appearances, 13 goals, 16 assists)
Mason Mount has been a phenomenal, consistent player in the Chelsea camp. The young English Man has remained unrivalled in the Chelsea attack. There is a sweet story to tell about the Cobham graduate who is on the way to making history. I feel like his triumph, as POTS announced in Chelsea's final game of the season, was deserved. However, he's not my personal choice.
Thiago Silva (48 appearances, 3 goals, 2 assists)
What a season this man has had. A 37-year-old that has answered all of my defensive prayers. For a long time, I have been stressing the need to have a central defender that will put his body on the line for the badge. Week in, week out, he has proven himself to fight for the badge, from goal-line clearances to playing through injury in the FA Cup final. He surely has become a gem to the team.

Antonio Rudiger (54 appearances, 5 goals, 4 assists)
RUDI! What an exit to his Chelsea career. He gave his very all up until his last game of the season. It has been a roller coaster for the German having most of his business out in public with his contract situation, but he has proven that the pressure would not interfere with his love for the club. It would have been a nice send-off for the German to be crowned player of the season.
Reece James (39 appearances, 6 goals, 10 assists)
If not for injuries, James would be the most obvious option. The youngster has developed his game to the point that Chelsea can not function properly without him. He has scored some important goals for the Blues and has made fantastic strides in challenging Trent Alexander-Arnold for that England right-back slot.
Mateo Kovacic (44 appearances, 2 goals, 6 assists)
Again, If not for injuries. Thoams Tuchel has worked an amazing job on Mateo Kovacic. He has become an integral midfielder after being the outcast between himself, N'golo Kante and Jorginho. By far the most progressed player and without the injuries, could have taken the crown from Mason Mount.
Writer's choice - Thiago Silva
My undisputed champion of Chelsea is Mr Thiago Silva. At his age, the quality and level of performances have been unparalleled across the board.
