Thiago Silva's wife, Belle, has posted an update on the defender's fitness as he recovers from knee ligament damage sustained in the 2-0 loss against Tottenham. Silva missed the first win in six for his side on Saturday and is set to be out for at least four more weeks, with no return likely until after the March international break.
Both goals last weekend were conceded after Silva left the field before half-time. He struggled to play on after Harry Kane landed on him in an attempt to block the striker's shot.
The 38-year-old has remained integral for his side and continues to play more minutes than ever before at Stamford Bridge but could only watch on as Graham Potter's men beat Leeds 1-0 on Saturday. It was the first time Chelsea had won without Silva since October 8.

They will have to get used to being without the defender with an important fixture against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, though Wesley Fofana once more proved why he was valued so highly by the club as a star with his goal. When it comes to the experience of Silva, however, that is something that cannot be replaced and Belle has revealed how her husband is recovering.
In a video on Instagram, she posted Silva getting accupuncture on his knee, writing in two clips, "house of love" before then showing needles being stuck into his leg. She explained with a caption, "The needles are on top of the ligament, emitting shocks due to use, it hurts so much."
When asked about Silva after last weekend, Potter said, “I’m not sure. Hopefully it’s not too serious but I haven’t spoken to the doctor enough to have a diagnosis for you.”
The club then confirmed the bad news in a statement, writing: "Having sustained a knee injury during the first half of Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur, Thiago underwent further assessment and a scan on his return to the training centre on Monday.
"Scan results from those assessments have confirmed damage to Thiago’s knee ligaments and he will now work closely with the club’s medical department during his rehabilitation to return to action as soon as possible."
