Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has named teammate Jordan Henderson as one of the best midfielders he has played alongside during his glittering career.
Thiago, who made the move to Anfield in the summer of 2020, is a graduate of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy and has shared the field with the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets.
Having been integrated into Barcelona's senior side by then-manager Pep Guardiola, the Spaniard went on to make 68 appearances for the La Liga giants before signing for Bayern Munich in 2013.

But it has been in Liverpool where one of his teammates has made arguably the biggest impression on the maestro, with the Reds captain, Henderson, the subject of rather high praise by the midfielder in a recent documentary.
In celebration of Henderson's eleven years on Merseyside, the club's kit manufacturer, Nike, launched a documentary - featuring the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold - to celebrate the journey of the Reds' No.14.
And while speaking about his experience of playing alongside Henderson since he moved, Thiago said: “He brings to us this intensity that the team needs at some points of the game. He’s intense the whole game.
“He’s one of the best midfield players I’ve played with in my life.”
In terms of praise, it doesn't get higher than that for Henderson, considering the respect Thiago's career has earned him in the game.
After a difficult start to life at Liverpool, after a £16m switch in the summer of 2011, Henderson has gone from strength to strength on Merseyside and has ensured his name will be talked about in the same conversation as the other legendary captains who have worn the armband.
The 32-year-old has captained Liverpool to six major during his tenure as captain, while only Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard have made more Premier League appearances for the Reds than Henderson.
