Whether you're all about getting healthy nails before the summer, or you want to embrace the dopamine dressing trend all the way from your capsule wardrobe to your manicure, there's a 2023 spring nail trend for you.
From the looks of it, pastels are very much in this season, from soft pinks and lavenders to icy blues and of course, bright yellow. And while some classic styles are making a comeback, they're about to get one hell of a spring-inspired makeover.
So, if you're ready to bid farewell to the cold and dreary weather and channel sunny vibes with your manicure, here are all the spring nail designs you'll be seeing everywhere in the coming weeks...
1. Floral French tips
Putting a botanical spin on the classic French tip, floral nails are set to be very popular indeed, with searches for the look already skyrocketing. In fact, Trend Expert at Wethrift, Nick Drewe says: "Floral prints are dominating the season, with the demand for ‘floral French’ nails up by 767% in the lead-up to spring.
"It’s unsurprising to see the floral trend continue to reign supreme as we embrace warmer weather, blue skies and flowers blooming. This year, we’re seeing nail artists get more creative with their designs, from retro flowers to hand-painted roses."
So, if you're a lover of minimal designs but still want to include a spring twist with your next manicure, perhaps try this floral French look!
2. Pastel yellow
Hailey Bieber's nails are yet again influencing this season's nail trends, after the model and Rhode Beauty founder debuted a brand new passion-fruit-inspired look, brought to us by celeb nail artist Zola Ganzorigt.
Searches for pastel yellow nails have seen a 500% increase in searches, with Drewe noting: "We’ve also seen a huge spike in searches for ‘lemon’ nails, with demand up by 367% in the lead-up to spring," before adding that overall, "we’re starting to see more people add bold colors to their Pinterest inspiration boards, to brighten up their screens as we see the warmer weather creeping in."
3. Blush nails
Blush nails are very much still the moment, with their dreamy pink aura. Personally, we can't wait to rep these in the coming months!
They're the perfect flirty nail look for a date night and can easily elevate a simple nude or pink manicure.
4. Pastel mirco French tips
Right now, TikTok is loving colorful micro French tips and we totally get it. They're minimal but seriously cute and will add a teeny pop of color to any outfit!
From our scrolling, we've spotted nail enthusiasts opting for a different pastel shade on each nail, but you can, of course, go for one shade instead for a more low-key look.
5. Daisy nails
Keeping on the floral theme, daisy nails are also having a major moment. Drewe says: "Nothing says ‘spring’ better than daisy flowers. This season, we’ve seen a 500% increase in people searching for daisy print nails on Pinterest. The design is simplistic and can be incorporated to match your own personal style."
Speaking on the versatility of this particular dainty trend, Drewe adds: "You could opt for a simplistic daisy print chain, or go for a bold and more daring color combination of pink, yellow and orange."
Much like with micro French tips, you can go as subtle or as bold as you want with this trend. Either adorn each of your nails with a cute daisy print or just opt for the tips or a solo design on your ring fingernail or thumb for instance. This trend also works for summer, so you can rock it for months to come!
6. Mint nails
Block pastel shades are set to dominate the nail trends for the coming months, as Dree notes: "Pastel tones are a spring staple—think soft greens, muted lilacs, baby blues and, of course, yellow. As we entered into spring, searches for pastel nails had increased by 306%."
Searches for mint nails, in particular, have also increased by 138%. This shade evokes thoughts of ice cream and hazy days at the beach, so it's not hard to see why this would make for the perfect spring nail color!
7. Pink chrome nails
Bright pink chrome nails are also dominating our TikTok and Instagram feeds after Hailey Bieber again rocked the Barbiecore-like look.
Pink chromes are perfect for both spring and summer, so get set to add this design to your nail Pinterest board!
8. Milky nude nails
While milky white nails were a huge trend in 2022, milky nudes are set to be the ultimate, subtle spring shade.
Searches for milky nude nails have spiked by 233%, so they're a safe bet if you want to be on trend, but perhaps can't get away with a bright chrome nail look at the office.
9. Sky blue nails
We've spotted baby blue shades creeping into your social feed lately and we're here for it.
Pastel blue is so wearable and also doubles as the perfect background for your floral and daisy nail designs!
10. Coral nails
Much like with mint nails, coral is also getting some love this spring. Drewe says:
"with the holiday season right around the corner, searches for lemon, coral and mint green nails have all increased."
If you're not a lover of pinks or yellows, a classic coral could be a great option for you and definitely gives vacay vibes!
11. Silver nails
Much like with silver fashion, silver chrome nails are gaining momentum, after the likes of Sabrina Carpenter rocked the futuristic look at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.
This is the perfect look for a party—what with wedding season approaching—and could be a great option for you if pastels are a bit too muted for you!
