Women often notice plenty about a man before he says a single word. That does not mean they conduct a secret inspection from across the room, clipboard in hand, assigning points for sock selection. First impressions simply happen quickly, and appearance, movement, grooming, and behavior all provide information before conversation begins.
Some of those signals involve obvious things, such as whether someone’s clothes look clean and cared for. Others are much less glamorous, like how a person handles a door, where he puts his phone, or whether he seems comfortable. None of these observations guarantees attraction, compatibility, or even a second conversation. They simply shape the first impression that arrives before the introduction does.
