A man caught "minding" a shotgun, a sex offender chef and a carer who stole £10,000 from victims with learning disabilities were among the Merseyside criminals jailed over the last week.
Also locked up was a drug dealer told police "I'm f***ed and I'm going to jail" when they raided his house. Meanwhile, Liverpool Crown Court heard that a drug addict left her granddad penniless after swindling him out of £75,000.

Danielle Smith
Victims with learning difficulties were pursued by bailiffs after the deputy manager of their supported living accommodation stole £10,000 from them.
Danielle Smith helped herself to thousands of pounds belonging to three vulnerable service users whose finances she had been entrusted to oversee. She wept in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court as she was locked up for 18 months for her callous crimes while families of the residents celebrated her imprisonment.
Luke Hutchinson
A heroin and crack cocaine dealer was caught selling drugs outside an Iceland supermarket.
Hutchinson admitted possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was jailed for 31 months.
Olivia Crutchley
A woman left her grandad penniless after inventing a legal battle with B&Q and billing him for her supposed solicitors' fees.
Olivia Crutchley stole nearly £75,000 from the man she described as her "best friend", cruelly conning him over the course of more than 18 months in order to fund her drug addiction. The 23-year-old bombarded the pensioner with a slew of fake emails purporting to be from lawyers and the Citizens Advice Bureau as she apparently attempted to sue her former employer, despite having never actually worked for the DIY giant.
Crutchley, who has no previous convictions, admitted fraud during an earlier hearing. Appearing in the dock wearing a black Fred Perry t-shirt and with her brown hair tied back, she was jailed for two years as a supporter wept in the public gallery.
Alex Ward
A drunken man assaulted his victim and forcibly kissed her while she lay on the ground, a court has heard.
Alex Ward, of Pembroke Court, Tranmere, pleaded guilty to one count of assault and one count of sexual assault on a female. He was jailed for a year.
Vincent Morgan
A drug dealer told police "I'm f***ed and I'm going to jail" when they raided his house.
Vincent Morgan was caught storing thousands of pounds of heroin and crack cocaine for an "intimidating individual with a violent reputation". He admitted possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession and possession of cocaine, ecstasy and ketamine and was jailed for 28 months.
Pauline Wardrobe
A drunken woman remained at the scene after setting her friend’s flat alight.
Pauline Wardrobe, 56, of no fixed abode, failed to appear at Liverpool Crown Court and was sentenced to four years imprisonment plus an extended licence of four years in her absence. She was found guilty by a jury after a trial of arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, but did not attend the trial or her plea hearing.
Vaughan Lane
A man was caught "minding" a shotgun as police investigated a reported kidnapping.
Officers followed a trail of blood through the streets and located an injured Vaughan Lane, then discovered the firearm and ammunition stashed in a duffle bag in a "doss house".
Lane admitted possession of a firearm. He nodded as he was jailed for 28 months.
Aaron Pressdee
A chef subjected a woman to a sickening sexual assault.
"Extremely manipulative" Aaron Pressdee carried out the "humiliating" attack then called his victim a "dog", Liverpool Crown Court heard. The 37-year-old, of Frank Street in Widnes, was said to "not feel an ounce of remorse" over his vile crime.
Pressdee was found guilty of sexual assault after a trial. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was jailed for five years and handed an extended three-year licence period.
Thomas Beddow
A serial sex offender groomed a group of schoolchildren with vapes before exposing himself to the youngsters.
Thomas Beddow would answer the door naked to his victims and perform sex acts at his doorstep. The paedophile also sexually assaulted one young girl after subjected her to a string of vile comments, leaving her asking "why a grown man would do this".
Beddow admitted sexual assault and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was imprisoned for five years and four months and handed an additional three years on licence.
