Captain Megan Kervin, of The Salvation Army, said: “If it is nice weather on the day, it is just the case of bringing your own picnic and sit out and have a nice lunch - have a little picnic in the park.

“It is a nice chance for everyone to have a sit together and have a nice meal together.”

The Salvation Army is a worldwide church and registered charity that offers unconditional friendship, and practical help to people of all ages and backgrounds.

They are present in over 100 countries around the world and this picnic is a small plan of bringing everyone from all those different backgrounds together to spend time and get to know each other.
