Former Dragons player Tavis Knoyle has hinted at issues behind the scenes at the Welsh region during an appearance on S4C's Jonathan show.
Knoyle believes the Dragons have an "amazing" team on paper despite the fact they have won only one match this season.
Coach Dean Ryan is under increasing pressure following the record-breaking 64-3 defeat to Munster on Saturday.
He admitted "stuff was said" in the dressing room afterwards, having previously revealed there have been tense moments within the struggling squad this season.
And Knoyle, whose immediate exit from the region was announced suddenly last month, has now seemingly alluded to all not being well.
Asked what it was like at the Dragons, he told Jonathan 'Jiffy' Davies: "I loved the boys and the medical staff were amazing to be fair, but there were too many English people running the place so I wanted out of that."
Jiffy told him his answer was "very political" and suggested it must have been tough being "whipping boys".
Knoyle added: "I was there for five years after being with the Scarlets and Blues. You just never win.
"It's weird, because on paper the team looks amazing."
Asked what the problem is then, he simply replied "No comment" while smiling.
The 31-year-old Wales international's contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but he pulled the plug early after first moving to Rodney Parade in 2016. He made 61 appearances for the Men of Gwent over five and a half seasons.
The region said of his departure: "Dragons would like to place on record our thanks to Tavis for his efforts during this time at the region and wish him and his family all the best for the future."
Knoyle, who has won 11 Wales caps, also runs his own gym business.
