There was conspiracy to dissolve PAC, 54 companies were disbanded: UP CM Yogi Adityanath

LUCKNOW: Addressing the jawans and officials on the passing-out parade of new PAC recruits, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that "there was a conspiracy to end the PAC force completely".

"As a part of this conspiracy, a total of 54 companies of PAC were disbanded at different times," he said.

The CM also announced that the government will soon set up a full-fledged dedicated institute to impart training on digital forensic and drone technology, particularly aimed at producing expert hands in the two sectors.

In all, a total of 15,487 Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) jawans on Tuesday completed their training across the state and will now be absorbed in the force. A senior PAC official said that at present there are as many as 33 battalions and 273 companies functional in PAC.

Addressing the passing-out parade, CM Yogi, without taking any names or specifying any period of time, said, "As a part of a conspiracy, there were efforts to end 54 companies. Today, when I see the splendid parade of the recruits, I am realizing how a big conspiracy was hatched."

"A despicable effort was made to stop these talented youths from joining the police force of the state and become a part of it, so that they can be prevented from serving the state and the nation," the CM said.

"We all know that in 2017, after the new government was formed in the state, at that time, posts in large numbers in the police and PAC were lying vacant. In the past five years, over 1.62 lakh police personnel have been recruited, and the training programme has been taken forward," he said.

He also said that not only 1.62 lakh youths have been recruited in the UP Police force and PAC in the past five years, but the government has also facilitated possibilities of job creation in the state.

The CM also said that recently the ministry of home affairs announced rankings of training centres across the country in which UP secured the third position.

Yogi also said that the capacity of the centres tasked with training these men, too, have been enhanced, like establishing virtual classrooms, while steps have been taken to modernize the police force along with modern courses, like introduction of cybercrime.

The CM said that the state-of-the-art Kotwal Dhan Singh Gujar police training academy is being constructed in Meerut.

"Today, the youth of Uttar Pradesh can say with great pride that I am a resident of UP — the heartland of India – unlike five years ago, when he used to conceal his identity that he hailed from UP. The way in which UP has transformed its image through good law and order, it is being praised everywhere," he said.

From Lucknow, as many as 333 jawans were trained at Kalli Paschim centre, while 15,154 other jawans were recruited from other 75 training centres in the state.

Ayush Singh who topped in Lucknow was also awarded by the UP CM. Singh holds a BSc and BEd and hails from Sultanpur district.
