Neal Maupay repeatedly left an impression on Frank Lampard through the trouble he caused his former sides.
The striker caught his new boss' eye while playing against Derby County and Chelsea - his hold-up play, character and desire to score goals all shining through. Those were the qualities that led to the Blues making Maupay the club's sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
With the 26-year-old set to feature in the Everton squad for the Merseyside derby, Lampard heaped praise on the French forward. He added: "He had a good level of form the moment he came in and now we've had this period to work with him, so he's ready."
