Callum Hudson-Odoi says there is “nothing I can say or do” about his standing in the Chelsea pecking order after the club’s spending spree.
The winger joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan in August and his parent club have since significantly bolstered their attacking options.
All of Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana and Noni Madueke arrived during a frantic January window, following the summer signings of Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
That has left manager Graham Potter with a bloated squad as it is, with Armando Broja another option in attack once he returns from a long-term injury.
As a result, Hudson-Odoi faces an almighty task to force his way into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old made only 11 Premier League starts last season even before the spate of new arrivals and has only one year left on his contract with his boyhood club.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Hudson-Odoi said: “I have not spoken to them much recently at all.
"I am not there so seeing all these players going, there is nothing I can say or do. At the end of the day, I am focused on the club here and trying to help as much as possible here.
“Whatever happens in the future, I do not know. All I can do is focus on what happens here."
