A seven-month-old Palestinian baby was shot dead by an Israeli soldier in the occupied West Bank, with newly released video footage now directly contradicting the military's claim that the family's car was accelerating toward troops when the shot was fired.
Sam Fahd Abu Haikal was killed on 5 June 2026 in the Tel Rumeida neighbourhood of Hebron, while riding in the back seat of his family's car in his mother's arms. His father, Fahd Abu Haikal, 41, and his mother, Dania, were also wounded in the incident.
