Welshpool Town Hall

If you’re looking for something that is super family-friendly, a group space where people can watch the Welsh games together has been set up by the council and will be open from 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Families have been invited to view the matches in the Town Hall as they will be screened using a projector.

Ben Gwalchmai, the councillor who organised the event said: "The fanzone was born out of discussions with friends, some of whom are part of The Red Wall who can't afford to go to Qatar and don't necessarily want to go to a pub, but do want a feeling of community spirit - especially in the coming winter of discontent.

"When I put the idea forward, other councillors saw it as I do: a means for us to do something positive, community building, nation building, and to celebrate Wales' place in the World Cup with as many of the people of Welshpool that want to come to a family-friendly space."

Wrexham

Three venues have confirmed that they will also be holding screenings tonight. The Turf Hotel in Wrexham is hosting a medium-sized fan zone. Two fanzones are also being set up on the High Stree t and Tŷ Pawb.

Big screens will be put up at both locations and Tŷ Pawb will be a dedicated family-friendly fanzone. On the High Street the evening matches will have live entertainment on a large stage.
