"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered" gives CD Projekt Red's acclaimed RPG another substantial update. It improves the game's graphics, combat, mod support, and several quality-of-life features.
The update also adds new options to the main menu. Players can access Combat Training, Mods, Patch Highlights, and other platform-specific features from there.
Improved Graphics and Performance
According to VGC, the remastered version gives many parts of "The Witcher 3" a visual upgrade. Characters, environments, foliage, and smaller details now appear more refined.
Lighting has also been reworked. PC players gain access to advanced features such as path tracing and improved ray tracing. Additional shading and rendering technologies further improve the game's overall presentation.
Textures, HDR, global lighting, and other visual effects have also been enhanced. These changes help make Geralt's world look more detailed and modern.
Reworked Combat and Skills
Combat has received several adjustments. New finishers have been added, while the dynamic camera has also been refined.
The skill system has been redesigned. The changes are intended to give players more flexibility when developing Geralt and choosing how they want to play.
Monster behavior and animations have also been improved. Movement and traversal receive refinements as well, making exploration feel smoother.
New Transmog and Photo Mode Options
One of the useful additions is a transmog system. GameSpot reports that players can change the appearance of their equipment without replacing the statistics of their stronger gear.
This means Geralt can keep wearing powerful equipment while maintaining a preferred visual style.
Photo Mode has also been expanded. Players get additional settings, poses, frames, and filters for creating screenshots. Other character models can also be added to certain shots, giving players more creative options.
Expanded Mod Support and Meditation
Mod support is another major part of the update. The remastered version expands what mods can do across supported platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2.
Meditation has also been redesigned. Instead of simply fading the screen to black, the updated system presents the passage of time more naturally.
Players can also access the combat tutorial directly from the main menu. This option bypasses the opening scenes and sends Geralt straight to Vesemir for combat practice.
Nintendo Switch 2 Features
Nintendo Switch 2 receives several features designed specifically for the platform. Mouse controls can be used to navigate menus, maps, and inventory screens.
Motion controls are also available for camera adjustments and certain actions.
Other improvements include better menu navigation, accessibility options, updated quest tracking, refined looting, and a modernized tutorial.
Free Upgrade For Existing Players
The remastered version is available as a free upgrade for existing owners of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." Both expansions are included without an additional charge.
The update covers a broad range of improvements. These include graphics, combat, movement, animations, mod support, Photo Mode, accessibility, and performance features.
