When Michelle Hadley was arrested in June 2016, the list of crimes the 29-year-old graduate student was accused of shocked California.
It was alleged that Hadley had sought revenge on her former partner, deputy U.S. Marshal Ian Diaz, and his new wife, Angela, by carrying out a vicious campaign of intimidation. A series of anonymous threats had been sent to the couple, and it emerged that someone had been posting on the classified ad website Craigslist to solicit men to carry out a “rape fantasy” and directing them to Ian and Angela’s home.
