According to a report by Axios, an Eagles fan simply searching for tickets was the source of the club’s “Kelly Green” jerseys being leaked prior to the team’s scheduled release date.
Brandon Winston, a passionate 31-year-old Philadelphia fan from West Virginia, logged onto the club’s app in a quest to purchase tickets to the team’s Week 2 home-opener against the Vikings on Sept. 14.
While on the application, a “Go Green” tab caught his attention, as he thought he was being "redirected to information about the team’s recycling initiative.”
Instead, he stumbled upon a host images of players wearing the club’s retro threads—images die-hard Eagles fans had been dying to see revealed.
“In my head, I’m like there’s no way I’m the first person to see these pictures,” Winston told Axios.
Winston immediately saved the photos to his phone but he didn’t just send them to friends. Instead, he also posted the images to social media platforms Facebook and Twitter.

The images would soon become viral and Winston was at the center of the leak by simple luck.
“The luck of the draw,” Winston said. “I know it’s hard to believe. But that’s really the story.”
Knowing that the jerseys were released several days ahead of their desired July 31 release, the Eagles had a hilarious response of, "Ya'll better not leak the playbook next."
In the end, the club simply had to admit what we all know: “Yes, we know the internet is undefeated.”
