Alex Bovaird thinks Brits abroad have a certain flair. “I can usually spot us in Thailand,” says The White Lotus costume designer. “I think some of us are impeccable, and some are a sight for sore eyes.”
Bovaird has been behind all three seasons of The White Lotus’ looks, but Chelsea is her first British girl. Aimee Lou Wood, who plays Chelsea, has explained that she initially interviewed with one American accent self-tape, and one Mancunian one. The Mancunian one was the one they wanted. And so she became our expat-in-chief.
