A Welsh pub has been named among the top 10 beach bars in the world, listed alongside venues in France, Brazil, Thailand and the Caribbean. Ty Coch Inn, the only bar in the UK to make the list, is set in a quaint Welsh village.
The pub has attracted such a reputation, that when we visited, a large group of people had travelled all the way from America to see how good it is.
Set in the village of Porthdinllaen in Gwynedd, the pub is just a few steps away from a sandy curved beach. The village is primarily known for its fishing and Ty Coch Inn has been part of the makeup there since 1842 but the building itself was built 20 years prior and used as a vicarage, NorthWalesLive reports.

Reaching it is a bit of trek, with road access limited to residents of the village, the nearest parking is about a 20 minute walk away. Not that you'll mind though, as you've got a choice to travel over the mound offering some excellent views out to sea, or along the beach itself to get there, the journey there makes the destination all the more worthwhile.
Once you arrive at the village you'll notice it's only made up of a handful of houses, with the Ty Coch Inn set right in the centre, a rich red painted across it's front to replicate the red brick the inn was originally built from. As you step inside, it's quite a small space, a bar and a few tables with a bustling kitchen area at the back, a range of different tankards hanging all across the roof.
While there is some seating within the bar is best enjoyed on a glorious sunny day, where you can take your drink outside to be enjoyed on the beach. But, if you did want to avoid having too much sun or sand in your shoes, the bar does offer an outdoor covered seating area and additional outdoor bar for the summer months.
As for what's on offer at the Inn, they have a range of drinks covering the usual selections of beers, ciders and wine, and if you are feeling peckish they offer a range of light bites, sandwiches and soups to enjoy as well. Currently the bar is open from 11am until 7pm Monday to Thursday, with extended hours on Friday and Saturday to help stave off those weekend blues.
When it came time for me to leave, I struggled to pull myself away, had I known such a picturesque spot had been sat so close to me all these years I'd have visited sooner. As I strolled along the beach back to where I had parked, I watched the little village and it's incredible pub disappear behind me, knowing that I'd be back to visit again soon.
