Mar. 30: Air China resumes Pyongyang flights

Air China will resume its direct flight between Beijing and Pyongyang after a six-year suspension. The flight will depart Beijing Capital International Airport at 8:05 a.m. Beijing time and arrive at Pyongyang Sunan International Airport after nearly two hours.

Mar. 31: European Parliament delegation visits China

A nine-member European Parliament delegation led by Anna Cavazzini, chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, will visit Beijing and Shanghai from March 31 to April 2 to discuss the digital economy and other issues.

Mar. 31: Tesla ends free FSD transfer service

Tesla Inc. will permanently terminate its free Full Self-Driving (FSD) transfer program. Under the plan, owners could previously transfer their purchased autonomous driving packages to a new Tesla vehicle at no cost.

April 1: Solar export tax rebates canceled

China will fully eliminate value-added tax export rebates for photovoltaic products, including core supply chain categories such as silicon wafers, cells, modules, and brackets, starting April 1. The move by the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration is seen as a crucial step to curb excessive competition in the domestic solar industry from spilling overseas.

April 1: Battery recycling rules take effect

A new interim management policy for recycling used new-energy vehicle batteries, jointly issued by six government departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, will come into force on April 1. The document provides a legal basis to strengthen recycling management and closely regulate the behavior of participants across the supply chain.

April 1: Customs credit measures take effect

The General Administration of Customs will implement revised enterprise credit management measures on April 1. The rules introduce new policies such as optimizing enterprise credit ratings, establishing error-tolerance mechanisms, and facilitating the repair of poor credit records to improve clearance efficiency for foreign trade firms.

April 1: BMW reshuffles Greater China leadership

Christian Ach will succeed Gao Xiang as president and CEO of BMW Group Greater China. Gao will conclude a management tenure of more than a decade in the country.

April 1: Artemis 2 enters launch window

NASA’s Artemis 2 manned lunar mission could launch as early as April 1, with a launch window extending to April 6. The Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft were moved back to the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on March 20.

April 5: Domestic airlines hike fuel surcharges

Spring Airlines Co. Ltd. will increase fuel surcharges on domestic routes for tickets sold from April 5. The move is expected to trigger an industrywide price hike as aviation fuel costs surge due to high international oil prices amid Middle East geopolitical conflicts in March.
