'The Wedding Singer' will be on stage in South Dublin this February.
Dún Laoghaire Musical & Dramatic Society are coming together for this production of the much loved romantic comedy classic. The 1998 movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is a feel good movie that was adapted to stage productions after its release.
"The 35-strong cast kicked off rehearsals in October and are currently putting the finishing touches to this superb production," Grace from the society said. The lead roles of Robbie and Julia will be played by society members David Hynes and Leonna Condron.

The chairperson of the society is Laura Lambert, who is also the choreographer for the play. She also plays the role of Linda - the hilariously funny and raunchy fiance of Robbie who jilts him at the altar.
As well as the cast, there is a creative team behind the project, which Brian Dennision is leading. "As director of The Wedding Singer, Brian is working closely with choreographer Laura to set every scene and bring the show to life, direct the cast, design the set, and oversee the various support teams (light, sound, props, costumes) with his creative vision", Grace said.
Des Cox is the musical director who has been with DMDS for 30 years. He has acted in parts on stage as well as well as being the musical lead for the group.
The show is best suited to teens and adults and will be running from February 7-11 at 8pm and tickets are available to buy directly from the Pavilion Theatre.
