Leaving behind comfort and royal life, he entered deep forests and mountains to perform intense penance dedicated to Shiva. For days and nights, Arjuna meditated with complete focus, determined to earn the blessings of the great deity.
The story is important because it shows that divine power in Hindu tradition is never given easily. Even the greatest warrior had to prove humility, patience, and spiritual discipline before receiving Shiva’s favor.
