Leeds United will be looking to take another massive step towards Premier League survival with a win against Watford on Saturday afternoon. The Whites currently sit six points above the relegation zone following Burnley's win over Everton but could all but secure safety if they pick up a positive result at Vicarage Road.
Jesse Marsch's side have picked up seven points from a possible nine available after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City, before the Whites drew 1-1 with Southampton last weekend. Jack Harrison gave Leeds the lead midway through the first-half, before James Ward-Prowse levelled with a sumptuous free-kick.
Meanwhile, Watford are three points behind 17th-place Everton and face an almighty fight if they want to get out of trouble. The Hornets also sit two points off Burnley but have played a game more than both teams, leaving them a massive task and a win over Leeds would give them some hope.

After winning the reverse fixture back in November, Leeds won all three of their top-flight matches against Watford, having done the double the only other time they were in the top tier together in 1999/00. Goals from Michael Bridges and Harry Kewell earned a 2-1 win at Vicarage Road, before Bridges, Michael Duberry and Darren Huckerby struck in a 3-1 success later in the season.
However, Watford have won each of their last three home matches against Leeds in all competitions. The most recent match was a 1-0 victory in the FA Cup fifth round in 2016, with Scott Wooton scoring an own-goal to condemn the Whites to a disappointing loss in Hertfordshire.
It is poised to be a close game, but form would favour a Leeds win given Watford's horrendous home form. The Hornets have lost their past eight home Premier League matches. The last time they lost nine consecutive home league games was between December 1971 and March 1972.
No team have lost more matches than Watford on home soil this season (11) and only three teams have survived Premier League relegation after losing 11 at home in a campaign. Hull City, Sunderland and Crystal Palace are the others to stay up, having lost that many games.
They are also on a league record run of 19 consecutive home games without a clean sheet, stretching back to a 3-0 victory against Liverpool back in February 2020. Ismaila Sarr, who has previously been linked with Leeds, scored a brace on the day when they last kept a shut out on home soil in the top-flight.
